About the Role
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering complex industrial and material handling projects.
This role is ideal for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking to step into a leadership position while remaining hands-on with design.
Key Skills & Experience
- Mechanical Design Engineer / Lead Design Engineer experience Ideally working with heavy engineering, structural steel design
- and fabrication, experince in, Bulk material handling conveyors / heavy industrial systems ( oil & gas, petrochem highly relveant)
- 3D CAD design, typically Autodesk Inventor / Revit / SolidWorks (or similar)
- Experinced with Technical drawings ( Ideally BS 8888 / drafting standards)
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA)
- Mangaement of Bill of Materials (BOM) management, Design reviews / checking / validation
Responsibilities
- Lead design delivery across multiple engineering projects
- Produce and review 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications
- Coordinate design teams and manage interfaces between systems
- Drive value engineering and design optimisation
- Support junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in industrial, manufacturing, or process environments
- Strong hands-on CAD and design capability
- Comfortable taking ownership of design outputs
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
