We are currently seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Duty Manager to join the team in Glasson Lakehouse. If you are passionate about exceptional customer service and have previous experience in a busy hotel then we would love to hear from you!
Key Areas
Overseeing daytoday Food & Beverage operations across restaurant, bar, and events
Leading and supporting frontofhouse teams during service
Ensuring exceptional guest experience in line with brand standards
Coordinating with kitchen, bar, and events teams to maintain seamless operations
Driving service standards, team development, and revenue performance
Job Purpose
The Food and Beverage Duty Manager plays a critical operational and leadership role. This position ensures the smooth running of daily F&B service, including restaurant, bar, and event operations, by overseeing teams, maintaining service quality, and upholding brand and health standards.
Acting as the senior onshift presence, the Duty Manager leads by example, engages directly with guests, manages team performance, and coordinates backofhouse communication to deliver an elevated and memorable dining experience.
Key Deliverables
Team Leadership & Shift Management
Supervise and support F&B staff during service, ensuring high levels of performance and team morale
Manage shift briefings, task allocation, and realtime problemsolving
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
Oversee scheduling, timekeeping, and team resourcing based on business levels
Support training initiatives, onboarding, and implementation of new service standards
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Act as a visible and approachable floor leader, ensuring guest satisfaction at every touchpoint
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and empathy
Monitor ambiance, cleanliness, and overall service presentation during shifts
Engage guests with genuine hospitality and uphold brand standards at all times
Ensure smooth table management, reservations, and hosting practices
Operational Coordination
Ensure accurate and timely pass expedition by liaising with kitchen and bar teams
Monitor food and beverage presentation and quality before delivery to guests
Use POS systems (e.g., Micros) for smooth billing and endofday reconciliation
Maintain clear communication across all departments during service
Coordinate F&B operations with events, private dining, and hotelwide functions
Compliance, Inventory & Standards
Enforce food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations in all F&B areas
Conduct daily inspections of restaurant, bar, and service stations to ensure readiness
Assist in inventory control, ordering, and cost management
Uphold compliance with internal SOPs, licensing laws, and operational policies
Preferred Experience
2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial F&B role within a hospitality environment
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and teambuilding skills
Indepth knowledge of F&B service, food safety practices, and operational procedures
Experience with hospitality systems (OpenTable, Micros, or similar)
Proactive approach during busy service periods
Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends
